Chalet Bibendum - Booking conditions and information

1          Definitions and Interpretation

The following terms and conditions form the basis of your contract for Chalet Bibendum. Please read them carefully as they set out the  respective rights and obligations, for both, you, the client, and, us, at Absoluut Chalet Holidays. No contract shall exist between Absoluut Chalet Holidays and the client until the Booking Form and the deposit/full holiday cost have been received by us, and when a confirmation invoice has been sent to you by us.

 2          How to book

Your booking will be reserved for an agreed time (normally 48 hours) to allow you to complete the booking form and return it to us, by email or post, accompanied by a 25% deposit of the full holiday price. No contract shall exist between the Client and Absoluut Chalet Holidays until the online Bookingdetails are completed together with a 25% deposit of the total holiday price or full payment if the booking is made within 10 weeks of the bookingdate.  Any charges levied by Absoluut Chalet Holidays's bank for foreign transfers or cheque payments are at the Client’s cost.

 3          Terms of Payment 

Your booking will be reserved for an agreed time (normally 48 hours) to allow you to complete the booking form and return it to us, by email or post, accompanied by a 25% deposit of the full holiday price. Or full payment if the booking is made within 10 weeks prior to arrival.  You may choose to pay either by credit card (via telephone), electronic bank transfer or by cheque.  The Client will be liable to fulfil payment for all those persons in whose name the booking was made.This first instalment ensures the reservation of the accommodation for the period of the requested stay, until the contract is made.   Once the deposit is received, a confirmation will be emailed to the Client.

Final Payment: The client undertakes to make the final payment of 75% of the price of the accommodation no later than 10 weeks prior to arrival; in case of late booking, full payment must be made at time of booking.  If payment is not received by the due date  Absoluut Chalet Holidays reserves the right to cancel the arrangements without further notice to the Client and levy the appropriate cancellation charges as detailed below. Absoluut Chalet Holidays strongly recommends that the Client has adequate travel insurance in place at this time to cover the deposit in case of cancellation. 

 4       Alteration or Cancellation by Client 

A cancellation must be made in writing and signed by the leader on behalf of the group. If the cancellation is made more than 10 weeks before arrival then the client have a loss of deposit.. If a cancellation is made within 10 weeks of arrival the following cancellation fees are applicable from the total cost of the holiday; 10-8 weeks 50%, 8-4 weeks 75%, 4-0 weeks 100%.  Should you cancel your reservation or contract at any time, your first instalment will not be refunded. 

  5       Alteration or Cancellation by Absoluut Chalet Holidays

It is highly unlikely that Absoluut Chalet Holidays will have to alter or cancel the confirmed booking but we must reserve the right to do so. If Absoluut Chalet Holidays have to make a significant change the Client will be offered compensation or a full refund unless the alteration or cancellation is as a result of “Force Majeure”. Such events may include war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, actual or threatened terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

 6          Accuracy of Information

Absoluut Chalet Holidays does its best to ensure that the information on our websites, or given by letter or by word of mouth, is correct and it is always given in good faith and in the belief that it is true. Regrettably, errors do occur and descriptions are subjective.  Absoluut Chalet Holidays will not be held liable for any errors or omissions. If you notice anything you deem to be inaccurate, please contact us.

 7       Behaviour , Breakage & Damage

Absoluut Chalet Holidays reserves the right to terminate without notice and liability the holiday of any group member and risk that of the entire group whose behaviour is such that it is likely to disrupt the enjoyment of others on holiday or staying in the property, or cause damage to the property or any third party.  

Noise - Please respect your neighbours, by keeping noise and nuisance to a minimum after 22.00 hours.  We ask that you take care to be quiet when returning to the property late at night. Our chalet is situated in a tranquille Savoyard hamlet, we respect our environment & our neighbours. Chalet Bibendum is not a party place.

You are also liable to forfeit your cautionary deposit if we receive complaints from our neighbours regarding the group’s unruly behaviour. This is entirely at the discretion of Chalet Bibendum.

Clients are liable for any breakage, damage or loss to the chalet accommodation and its contents, whether the breakage, damage or loss is accidental or deliberate. All Absoluut Chalet Holidays has the right to invoice the client or charge their debit/credit card for all breakages, damages or losses that remain unpaid at time of departure.

Security deposit: The Client has to sign a security deposit form and creditcard details. This form will be destroyed within 2 weeks of departure.  We do not make unnecessary or petty charges to our guests, but we must have the facility to penalise if problems have been caused. The card details are stored securely in our office and are destroyed when the property has been given the "all clear". If a problem has occurred, the full amount of the Security Deposit is taken and any surplus is refunded when the matter has been resolved.

8       Personal belongings

Absoluut Chalet Holidays is at no time held responsible for the loss or damage to personal items of the client, including money.  Personal items remain the sole responsibility of the client.

9      Children and Pets 

The Client accepts responsibility for the behaviour and welfare of any children in the Client’s party. Every effort is made to ensure safety in the Property, but any Client taking children on holiday does so at their own risk. Pets are not accepted in any of our properties unless through prior agreement. 

10     Smoking

Chalet Bibendum is a non-smoking property, we therefore ask that smoking takes place outside the property and all associated waste cleaned up.  Guests agree that the security bond will be forfeited if this condition is ignored. 

11     Claims by the group 

In spite of all our best efforts, we recognize problems sometimes do occur. If you have a complaint please inform us immediately in order that we have an opportunity to rectify the problem, ensuring only minimal disruption to your holiday. If you feel your complaint hasn't been dealt with in a satisfactory manner, it must be followed by a formal letter of complaint, received by us within 4 weeks of your departure date.

12     Insurance

It is a condition of our accepting your booking that all members of your travelling party have adequate travel insurance cover for your skiing holiday. Please ensure you have your documents with you when travelling, as they will be required immediately in the event of any incidents.

13     Visas and passports

All clients must be in possession of a valid passport along with the necessary visas to allow entry into France and Switzerland. Any costs or fines incurred due to failing to meet such requirements will be the sole responsibility of the client.
